Giving back to the community has been an integral part of the SC Global ethos from sponsoring international art exhibitions and sporting events, to working with local students and funding free tennis classes for children.<\/p>\n

The \u201cSC Global Tennis For Every Child (TFEC)\u201d community programme was introduced in 2014 as part of the Group\u2019s sponsorship of the WTA Finals, with the aim of increasing access and participation in tennis and building a lasting legacy for the sport. The programme aims to increase participation in local primary schools by providing them with free equipment, after school programmes, teacher training, and mentorship to develop tennis programmes. The programme was successfully introduced into 26 primary schools, bringing the joys of tennis to over 50,000 students over 5 years. The programme became an integral part of the WTA Finals success story with students from the programme participating in the official handover of the WTA Finals Tournament to Shenzen.<\/p>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n

The programme had a multi-level approach, providing schools with free mini-tennis equipment as well as regular coach training workshops. The programme gave each primary school the necessary resources for them to teach mini-tennis to all their students as part of their PE curriculum, as well as providing fully sponsored training by Singapore Tennis Association certified coaches. The programme included the sponsorship of free weekly after-school tennis programmes in local schools for students with a keen interest in the sport, as part of the school’s after-school co-curricular activity.<\/p>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n

SC Global employees were also actively involved in the outreach programme, wholeheartedly giving their time to the management, development, fund-raising and marketing of the TFEC programme. As part of the company’s CSR programme, SC Global staff were encouraged to volunteer as coaching assistants in the weekly classes and at the programme carnivals, an initiative that proved very successful with many volunteers signing up on a regular basis.<\/p>\n <\/div> \n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n
