The World’s First Apartment Decorated by Hermès
Some collaborations are born from a shared belief in craftsmanship.
When SC Global and Hermès Maison came together to create the interiors for a residence at The Marq on Paterson Hill, the collaboration was built on a longstanding relationship founded on mutual trust and a shared appreciation for craftsmanship. The ambition extended far beyond furnishing an apartment. It was an opportunity to explore how architecture, interior design and artisanal craftsmanship could be brought together as a single, considered expression of home.
The result was the world’s first residence to be entirely decorated by Hermès Maison. Conceived through a close creative exchange between Yves Taralon, Creative Director of La Table Hermès, and Michelle Cheong, Creative Director of the SC Global design team, every detail was guided by a shared pursuit of quality, originality and timeless design.

Inspired by Hermès’ philosophy of art de vivre, the residence brings together bespoke furniture, textiles and handcrafted furnishings with carefully commissioned works of art. Four of Josef Albers’ limited-edition Homage to the Carré silk works sit alongside a commissioned chalk drawing by French artist Jean-Luc Favero, while a bespoke 45-light crystal chandelier by Cristalleries de Saint-Louis with a singular blue crystal droplet forms the centrepiece of the grand dining salon. Within the master suite, hand-stitched Clemence calf leather, intricate straw marquetry—an almost forgotten craft revived by Hermès through its commitment to preserving traditional artisanship—and finely crafted lighting reflect the same uncompromising respect for craftsmanship.
More than a showcase of exceptional design, the residence reflects a shared belief that architecture, craftsmanship and art are at their most powerful when conceived as one. Together, SC Global and Hermès Maison created a residence that remains a rare expression of both brands’ commitment to originality and The Ultimate Living.
